Correctly specified capstans offer valuable safety and efficiency benefits as part of a well-designed mooring system. Glen’s experience in designing and manufacturing QRH systems means we are experts in recommending capstans, either as part of an integrated system or as a separate requirement.

Free Standing Capstans are designed and manufactured for safe and efficient handling of vessels. By preventing the heavy lifting of mooring lines, capstans greatly reduce handling time for mooring linesmen.

Capstans are typically an integral part of the complete QRH package manufactured and supplied by Glen. Available in standard versions with a nominal pull from 1 ton to 3 tons, Glen capstans can also be supplied as separately freestanding units or add-on units.
