Diwan's technology has gained international recognition, with its solutions used in millions of mobile devices worldwide and licensed by major companies such as Apple Inc. and Zynga. Diwan also boasts one of the largest libraries of high-quality Arabic typefaces, including the award-winning Mishafi font, which faithfully replicates the holy Quran.

As a significant regional investor in software research and development, Diwan's research results have been accepted at prestigious international conferences such as UIST, ITS, EDMEDIA, and the Unicode Conference.

Notable Past Projects


  • Developed Oannis on Windows 7: The first Interactive Classroom System in the region, used by Dubai Police Academy, UAE.

  • Created standard Arabic fonts used by Apple Inc. in Mac OS X and iOS.

  • Developed a fully electronic classroom for the Oman Ministry of Education, confirmed by Intel as the first successful deployment in the world.

  • Collaborated with W3C and Microsoft to add Arabic mathematical symbols to the Unicode standard.

  • Consultant to Yahoo! Inc. for Arabic support in its web properties.

  • Working with W3C and Google to define right-to-left language support in HTML5.

  • Collaborated with Google to convert their web application system "Google Web Toolkit" to handle Arabic.

  • Digitization of the high school curriculum (three classes, 90 educational books) for the Republic of Yemen Ministry of Education.

  • Digitization of the high school curriculum for the Oman Ministry of Education.

  • Implemented Islamic, electronic educational books (21 books) for all education classes in Saudi Arabia for Dar al Wasilah.



Additionally, Diwan has worked with W3C and Microsoft to add Arabic support to their web properties, and is currently collaborating with Google to define right-to-left language support in HTML5. Diwan's expertise extends to the conversion of Google's web application system "Google Web Toolkit" to handle Arabic, and the digitization of educational curricula for various ministries in the Middle East.
